What’s New In TimeTune 4.10

TimeTune 4.10 is here! 😍

This version brings with it new features that increase the power of the app. There’s also an important change which represents a win for user privacy, plus other additional design changes.

Let’s see what’s new:

FIVE TAGS PER BLOCK

TimeTune 4.10 allows you to add five tags per block, instead of three:

This change will come in handy if you need to classify your time by multiple criteria or additional sub-categories. It also provides more possibilities and flexibility to your statistics.

And all five tags will appear in notifications as well:

DUPLICATING BLOCKS

A new long-click action allows you to duplicate a block from your schedule, keeping its current configuration and notifications:

When you select that action, the app draws the notifications from the original block and puts the data into the ‘New block’ screen. That way, you only need to change the date and/or time to create a duplicate of the block in another place ✨

This feature is also available when editing templates, so you can duplicate a block into the same day (it was already possible to copy a block to a different day of the template).

SHARING A SCHEDULE DAY

Many users requested an option to send a day from the schedule to another person, so you can show other people your schedule for today (or any day for that matter).

What we’ve done -for the moment- is adapting the ‘Share’ option that was already present in templates and adding it to the schedule top menu:

This option allows you to export the content of a day in text form, so it can be sent to anyone through email or any other channel.

However, we know that using plain text is not ideal. Our intention is to add other possibilities in future updates.

NO MORE EXTERNAL ADS

As we explained in a previous article, the revenue we get from external ads in TimeTune has always been pretty low 📉

In addition to that, implementing external advertising the right way and in full compliance with the current legislation in all countries of the world is a bit of a nightmare.

Therefore, we decided that it’s not worth it anymore.

Starting TimeTune 4.10, the app will not show ads from external providers anymore 🥳

We’ll only use the banner to promote the premium version and our own apps, like Periodically:

This has two big advantages for users:

• Better privacy: no more external ads, no more advertising tracking!
• Smaller app: after removing the ad SDK, the app now uses less space in your device.

SETTINGS RESTRUCTURING

After adding several options through different versions, we realized that the settings screen was a bit crammed and needed a bit of simplification.

Therefore, we moved some options to their own sections, like ‘Send feedback’ and ‘Try our other apps’.

Now the settings screen is not so overwhelming:

We also took the opportunity to add icons to all the options inside sections:

OTHER TECHNICAL CHANGES

As always, this new version contains other additional technical changes:

• Library updates.
• Advertising library removed.
• Advertising permission removed.
• Changed the wording for some texts.
• Purchase icon removed from top menus.
• Block descriptions increased from 500 to 1000 characters.
• Device navigation bar changes color depending on banner present or not.
• Bug fixes.
