TimeTune 4.15 is here with new features! π
The new version includes many ‘quality of life’ improvements. Several options are now easier to use while being more powerful at the same time.
We also changed the design of notifications to provide more and better information π
Let’s see the changes in detail:
NEW FIELD: DURATION
When you create or edit a block, now you can enter its duration:
The ‘duration’ field is tied to the ‘end time’ field. So when you change one, the other is updated automatically.
This way, you don’t need to calculate the end time in your head anymore. If you want to create a 30-minute block, just enter the duration after entering the start time β¨
PRESET DURATIONS
The duration picker now includes a selection of commonly used durations:
Thanks to these presets, now you just need one click to select a standard duration.
NEW ‘NOW’ BUTTON
The time picker in TimeTune 4.15 includes a new ‘Now’ button:
When you click on ‘Now’, the picker automatically returns the current time. So there’s no need to select the current time with the clock anymore π
The ‘Now’ button is especially powerful for making quick adjustments: in the ‘Schedule’ section, click on a time on the left, then click the ‘Now’ button. Just two clicks and you’re done!
We know many people prefer to adjust their schedule in 5-minute increments, so we added a new setting to make the ‘Now’ button return the closest 5-minute mark:
The new setting is located under ‘Settings / Interface / Time picker’.
‘APPLY TEMPLATE’ MOVED TO TOP MENU
Before version 4.15, the main ‘+’ button in the schedule section included two options: ‘New block’ and ‘Apply template’.
But that approach had a drawback: each time you wanted to use either option, you needed to expand the button and then select the proper option. That was two clicks and some cognitive overload.
In version 4.15, we moved ‘Apply template’ (the less frequent option) to the top menu:
This way, ‘Apply template’ is two clicks away (like before) but you just need one click on ‘+’ to create a new block π
NEW DESIGN IN ‘REPEAT’ SCREEN
The old design to select repetition patterns was a bit ‘clunky’ (and some options were too hidden).
We rebuilt the screen from the ground up to make the options more visible and intuitive:
Besides that, each option now includes three buttons to change its frequency. You can click on the ‘plus’ or ‘minus’ buttons to increase or decrease the frequency (or click on the keyboard icon to select a specific quantity).
FORCING AUTOMATIC BACKUPS
If enabled, automatic backups take place every 24 hours approximately. But for users who have more than one device, that was not convenient. If they wanted to transfer the most recent data from one device to another, they needed to resort to manual backups.
Not anymore! π
In TimeTune 4.15, you can force an automatic backup with just one click:
After that, you can go right to the second device and restore the data.
π Remember that automatic backups are a premium feature.
NEW DESIGN FOR PERSISTENT NOTIFICATION
We made a few changes to the persistent notification:
- If the block has a title, the notification will show it (previously it didn’t).
- Now you can expand the notification to see more details.
- The notification uses emojis to differentiate each concept.
Here’s an example:
π For the moment the persistent notification doesn’t show block descriptions but we’re evaluating the possibilities.
NEW DESIGN FOR ORDINARY NOTIFICATIONS
We also changed the design of normal notifications, similar to what we did with the persistent notification:
When the notification is collapsed, it shows the title of the block and the time reference (‘Starting now’, ‘Starting in 10 min’, etc).
When the notification is expanded, you can see all the details: title, activity, time reference, notification custom message, block description and the button to disable notifications.
As in the persistent notification, emojis come in very handy to differentiate each notification concept.
NEW OPTIONS TO SUPPORT THE PROJECT
If you remember, the last version added a new section to the settings screen where users can show their support to the project.
That section was very well received! We want to send a big thank you to everyone who showed their support through it. You are truly awesome! β€οΈ
In TimeTune 4.15, we tweaked that section a bit to include our two other apps, Periodically and Kiteki:
Periodically and Kiteki are freemium like TimeTune. They offer a lot of features for free, with some (optional) premium features.
If you haven’t tried them yet, give them a go! They are implemented with the same love, care and quality we use in TimeTune π₯°
OTHER CHANGES
As always, the new version includes additional, smaller changes:
- Library updates.
- New languages: Polish and Chinese traditional.
- The ‘Empty time’ icon in the persistent notification is now an hourglass.
- The persistent notification always uses the activity icon now.
- The glasses icon in the icon picker is not filled now.
- Adjustments to other icons in the icon picker.
- Solved: back arrow not working in the ‘Settings / Widget’ screen.
- The schedule now shows ‘Calendar event’ for calendar events without title.
- Additional design changes throughout the app.
- Bug fixes.
Thanks everyone and enjoy your time! π

As a dedicated user, I’ve found this app to be an exceptional tool for my daily productivity and tracking needs. While it’s already impressive, I believe a few strategic enhancements could transform it from merely helpful to absolutely essential. Here are my thoughts on what could make this app perfect:
## Simple Improvements: Better Activity Timing
The current chronometer functionality works well, but adding a timer option would significantly improve the user experience. Ideally, I’d like to:
– Select an activity and set a planned duration
– Start the timer and let it count down
– If I stop before the timer ends, have the app automatically log the actual minutes spent
– Seamlessly integrate this with my agenda for quick adjustments to my schedule
-Add an overlap debug option: Currently, when I start a pause in my agenda, it’s registered as an overlap (which is correct). I’d like an option that allows inserting the new block inside the old one, essentially splitting the old one into two parts
-Include a button that integrates the agenda with the device’s clock alarm, not just notifications which are too easy to forget
This simple addition would make planning and tracking activities much more flexible, especially for those of us who frequently make small adjustments throughout the day.
## Advanced Features: Predictive Analytics & Relationships
This is where I see tremendous potential, and I’d gladly pay for premium features like these:
Instead of requiring a separate app like “Periodically,” integrate advanced analytics directly into the main interface. The app could:
– Generate time-series predictions between different events
– Identify relationships between variables (e.g., training, sleep, nutrition)
– Connect health metrics with mindset and performance
For example, the app might detect that when I exercise but get poor sleep (few hours), I consistently experience muscular pain the next day. As these patterns become more frequent, the relationship strength would increase, leading to increasingly accurate predictions.
Over time, the app could provide personalized recommendations based on my historical data, essentially functioning as an AI health coach that learns my specific patterns.
## The Big Picture: From Helper to Must-Have
Implementing these recommendation capabilities would certainly be challenging, but it would elevate the app to compete with personal coaches and premium health services. It would also generate richer data sets that could benefit users while potentially creating new revenue streams.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind if my anonymized data contributed to this improvement (though privacy options should remain available). The platform could even be adapted for scientific studies, tracking medication effects or other research applications.
In conclusion, the app is already fantastic, but these enhancements could transform it from a helpful tool into an indispensable daily companion. feel free to contact me, I will gladly answer you.
Also intergreat a LLM model will be a plus, LLM could create blocks or summary your day or add information or give you recomendations.
It would also be a great plus to add an LLM template, as it could create blocks, summarize your day, add information (details) or give you recommendations based on your questions.
I’m not going to lieβI’ve considered developing my own app to get exactly what I want. However, after weighing the time investment and technical challenges against existing alternatives like Timetune, I’ve concluded it simply isn’t worth the effort. The first set of recommendations I’ve outlined would transform Timetune into everything I currently need from a time management tool. As for the second set of recommendations regarding predictive analytics and relationship mapping, I believe these represent not just useful features but potentially very lucrative investment opportunities for the developers. By elevating the app from simple time tracking to personalized health and productivity insights, they could tap into a premium market segment willing to pay for AI-driven coaching and analytics.
Hi Alexander! π Thank you very much for your suggestions, we really appreciate your feedback π
We take note of the ideas and we’ll evaluate the possibilities for the future π
