Hello TimeTuners! TimeTune 5.2 is here! 😍
This version includes a highly requested feature: the ‘Done’ checkmark. It also includes a complete overhaul of the homescreen widget and other improvements.
Ready? Let’s see what’s new!
MARKING BLOCKS AS ‘DONE’
TimeTune 5.2 allows premium users to mark their blocks as ‘Done’:
This feature has been requested for some time now, but there was a problem. Some users wanted it, some users didn’t.
The solution? We made the feature optional.
So if you don’t need the checkmark, you can hide it in the interface settings and use the app like before:
The ‘Statistics’ section will also show how many blocks you completed or not in the selected period:
We hope you like the new feature! 🥰
NEW WIDGET DESIGN
Adapting the design of the homescreen widget was a task long overdue 😅
Now that we adapted the app to Material Design 3 it was the perfect opportunity to translate the new design to the widget as well:
And as you can see in the screenshot, the widget will also allow you to mark your blocks as ‘Done’ ☑️
Apart from that, the new design required some changes in the ‘Custom’ theme for the widget:
- Now you can tweak the color of the background and blocks independently.
- Now you can tweak the opacity of the background and blocks independently.
- Now you can change the text color of the background and blocks independently.
Do you like the new widget design?
NOTIFICATIONS
We made small changes to notifications, according to user requests:
- Voice notifications now check whether the app is explicitly allowed in DND mode or not.
- Notifications in collapsed mode include the description field again, so it appears in smartwatches.
- We reordered the fields for normal notifications in expanded mode.
- Voice notifications will say the time reference at the end (‘Starting now’, ‘Starting in 5 minutes’, etc), except when there’s a custom message, which overrides everything.
Also, there have been some problems lately with the the way some devices group notifications in the notification area, mostly in Android 16.
Android 16 seems to group all notifications from the same app by default, overriding the groups defined by developers. That causes the persistent notification to be grouped (sometimes) into the general notification group.
In TimeTune 5.2 we tried to add all the possible elements to prevent the persistent notification from being grouped with other notifications. But if you still observe this behavior, please report it through the app itself (Settings / Send feedback / Report a problem).
Thanks!
TIMETUNE 5 COMPLETED
TimeTune 5.2 completes all the changes we initially wanted to make in TimeTune 5.0.
As explained in previous changelogs, we had to push versions 5.0 and 5.1 quickly to the public channel in order to avoid some bugs in Android 16.
In any case, we keep working on more improvements!
