In this brief post we’ll explain how TimeTune manages your privacy. In our case, it’s very simple.
TL;DR: TimeTune does not collect private information of any kind.
GDPR
On May 25, 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force. This regulation was developed by the European Parliament in order to protect the privacy and digital rights of all residents in the European Union (EU).
However, all companies processing data from EU residents had to adopt this regulation, no matter whether these companies were located in the European Union or not.
In this scenario, most companies did the most sensible thing: extend the regulation to all their users, not only European ones.
In a (very small) nutshell, the GDPR states that:
- Companies cannot process your personal data without your explicit consent.
- Companies must explain what happens to your personal data, where they store it and for how long.
- You have the right to opt-out of any data collection process at any moment.
- Also, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any moment.
This was without a doubt a great win for users. And for companies it means more transparency and a way to establish more trust with their clients. Only companies using ‘shady’ strategies should be worried about the GDPR.
TimeTune is fully GDPR compliant.
Here are the details:
YOUR PRIVACY IN THE TIMETUNE APPLICATION
The data you create in the TimeTune application (routines, events, etc) is stored locally on the device and belongs to you.
Apart from that, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to compose general statistics about how the app is used. This tool only collects aggregated user behavior in an anonymous form. No personal or identifiable information is ever collected.
You can find more details in the Privacy Policy for the app.
YOUR PRIVACY IN THE TIMETUNE WEBSITE
The TimeTune website does not collect personal data either:
The website uses Google Analytics to make general statistics about how visitors use the site. To that purpose, Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’ to collect standard visitor behavior in an anonymous form.
The website doesn’t contain login fields or contact forms, so no personal data can be collected from it.
You can find more details on the website’s Privacy page.
YOUR PRIVACY WHEN YOU CONTACT US
When you contact us by email (including the ‘Send technical report’ and ‘Send database’ options in the app), Facebook, Twitter or similar, we may keep a record of this communication to help you solve the issues you might be facing with the app. We don’t use this communication for any other purposes.
In any case, you can always request the removal of your contact data and messages at any given time.
